Behind Safelume

My name is Michael, I’m 27 years old, and I’ve always been passionate about technology and building personal setups that prioritize quality, performance, and customization. I have a background in streaming and graphic design, along with experience in AI optimization, which naturally led me into exploring privacy-focused tools and self-hosting. Over time, that interest grew into a deeper focus on creating more secure, efficient, and personalized home tech environments.

— The Goal

What Safelume Stands For

Safelume wasn’t started as a random hobby—it came from realizing how much of our personal information exists online, and how often it’s treated as something to be collected and sold. In today’s digital world, privacy has become less of a default and more of a choice, and most people aren’t even aware of how much they’re giving up.

The goal of Safelume is to help people take back a sense of control and ownership over their home technology and personal data. Whether someone has little to no technical background or is already well-versed in the space, the aim is to make privacy, security, and better home infrastructure more accessible, understandable, and achievable.

My Setup

Welcome to my setup gallery, a collection of the tech and hobbies that make up my everyday life. From my main PC built for daily use and gaming, to my Framework 13 laptop running Linux for self-hosting projects and experimentation, each setup has its own purpose. I also run a compact personal media server that handles network security while storing my music, photos, and videos. And finally, there’s Spud, my 2-year-old leopard gecko, who spends most of his time doing what he does best: hiding away and sleeping all day.

+ How I work

You own it completely. No lock-in, no subscription.

I don’t sell subscriptions or push unnecessary services. You choose the hardware that fits your needs either on your own or with my guidance if needed. I handle the full setup, installation, and software configuration to make sure everything runs smoothly and securely.
